Many consider the XP to be the best rod that Sage ever built.
This 4-piece, 9’6” rod is rated for a #6 line, but will easily handle a #7.
Overall, it is in excellent condition.
There are a couple of scuff marks on the finish that I have tried to capture in photographs.
The cork grip, reel seat, fighting butt, guides, and wraps, are all in exceptional condition.
Ferrule alignments dots were applied by the previous owner.
Chuck Echer, a highly respected northern California fly tier and flyfishing instructor, was the original owner.
His name is on the rod, put there after he acquired it.
The serial number on the rod dates it to 2005.
This is factory-built rod by Sage.
Not a custom rod.
The original Sage rod tube is included.
A cloth sack (not original) is also included.
