1983 Electronic Drum Computer - MXR 185 by MXR Innovations, Inc. - $490 (Millville)

Moving and must sell everything including my vintage MXR 185 Drum Computer.
These are rare and hard to find these days.
This one was made in 1983.
The drum machine is based on 8-bit samples that sound amazing.
The built in sequencer has a "tight" groove and an incredible vintage 80's sound.
Back in the early eighties, MXR couldn't resist the lure of the growing drum machine market.
Linn and Emu had been seen to be very successful with their products and, technically.

a programmable sequencer that issued triggers to fire off crude 8-bit drum samples stored in ROM chips.
And so they released their MXR 185 Drum Computer.
Twelve drum sounds, each sound also had its own individual output and level slider.
Whereas the Emu Drumulator compromised in these areas, the MXR was more like a Linn in terms of dedicated pads and controls.
The MXR 185 also had some interesting innovations in the user interface.
It was created by Keith Barr, Founder of MXR and also Alesis.
This unit is in fair condition.
It has one scratch on one of the wood side panels.
The unit functions well except that a couple of the buttons do not trigger the sound every time because of dust.
All of the sounds do work out of the individual outputs as well as the stereo outputs.
The unit needs a thorough cleaning.
An air compressor may do the trick.
