* *JOB SUMMARY:* Provide dental care services to patients within the clinic service area.
Assist the Dental Director with the coordination of administrative procedures.
*REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* * Graduate of an accredited school of Dentistry with Doctor Dental Surgery (DDS) degree or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).
* Current California State Board of Dentistry License.
* CPR certification.
* Current DEA Class 3 License.
* Demonstrated work experience as a Dentist in private or clinical practice.
* Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
* Indian preference.
* Must be fingerprinted and pass background check.
*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:* 1.
Performs all skills as defined by the RRTHC Scope of Services.
2.
Provide routine dental care services including general restorative and preventative procedures, crown and bridge, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, prosthetics dentistry, identifying oral pathology and provide oral surgery.
3.
Provide dental care services, including obtaining dental history specific to the patient's current clinic visit, completing appropriate examination of patient, and developing treatment plan with appropriate follow up and writing prescriptions for required medication.
4.
Review patient charts preceding appointments and record visits in appropriate format.
5.
Provide clinical guidance and counsel to other clinic personnel.
6.
Supervise clinical procedures performed by Registered Dental Hygienists and Registered Dental Assistants.
7.
Record patient chart entries subjectively in Electronic Dental Record, following RRTHS policies and MediCal guidelines.
8.
Consult with clinic dental staff on patient care issues.
9.
Participate in the development, maintenance and review of dental department protocols, policies and standardized procedures.
10.
Ensure all OSHA, Dental Board, and Redding Rancheria Dental Clinic policies and procedures are properly followed.
11.
Interact with patients and instruct them on proper oral care and nutritional counseling.
12.
Train dental assistants.
13.
Obtains appropriate consultations or refer to specialists when problems presented are outside the scope of practice or when unfamiliar with a particular aspect of patient care.
14.
Work closely with medical personnel to provide care for medically complex patients.
15.
Share in administrative tasks including verification of PRC/benefits, hygiene sign offs/face to face encounters.
16.
Provide anxiolytic medication for dental phobic patients (Nitrous oxide).
17.
Rotate among other Redding Rancheria health campuses.
All certifications, credentials/ licenses, education verification /degrees and/or transcripts, and Indian verification are required to process your application.
