*Duties*
- Review and analyze medical records and patient bills
- Ensure accurate coding and billing of medical procedures and services
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve billing discrepancies
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
*Experience*
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or related field
- Proficient in medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems
- Familiarity with medical office systems and electronic health records (EHR)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Must be flexible, personable and teachable.
Experience with Partnership/Medi-Cal prefered.
