The Department of Sciences and Mathematics at Simpson University invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor in Biology beginning August 15, 2024.
The successful candidate should be prepared to teach upper-division courses in cellular/molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry, as well as introductory biology courses in the general education curriculum.

Ph.
D.
in biology or a related field, with an emphasis in cellular/molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, and/or biochemistry.
Demonstrated ability to teach both lecture and laboratory coursework.
Evidence of teaching excellence utilizing a variety of teaching modalities—in-person, remote, and hybrid.
Experience working with a diverse student population.
Promising research agenda that supports undergraduate education is desirable.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach 12 units of undergraduate courses each fall and spring semester.
Prepare and teach undergraduate lecture and lab biology courses including, but not limited to introduction to biology, cellular/molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry.
Advise and mentor undergraduate students in the biology major.
Provide department support for curriculum design, assessment for degree program, and student recruitment.
Serve on faculty committees.
Attend department meetings and professional development activities:
Ensure the timely completion of assessments, grades, and other reports.

Accordingly, the current salary range is $64,480 - $76,000.
