Jefferson State Highways, Inc is hiring 1-2 CDL Drivers to handle our expanding materials division.
this position may be temporary or full time.
We welcome part time or contract by contract drivers to apply in addition to full time drivers.
We are a general engineering contractor and one of the largest material distributors in the north state supplying construction materials for projects in northern California.
Loads will primarily be on flatbeds which may include steel pipe, precast concrete materials, erosion control products etc.
The ideal candidate will have experience hauling concrete pipe and other construction materials.
Pay will be dependent upon experience level and qualifications
Range: $27-$32 per hour
Duties:
- Drive assigned routes and make deliveries in a timely manner.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe transportation of goods.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or accidents that occur.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules.
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements and experience with flatbed hauling
- Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents in the past [number] years.
- 2 years of experience as a truck driver preferred.
- Ability to operate different types of trucks and equipment based on job requirements.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations governing commercial truck operations.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with dispatchers, customers, and other team members effectively.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to handle loading and unloading cargo as required.
