is looking for someone able to test and monitor production processes to ensure that the company’s products are in compliance with all company standards of quality, food safety, hygiene and human safety.
Document all test results and observations.
Analyze results and observations to identify any out-of-specification conditions, reporting these appropriately.
Verify the effectiveness of all adjustments or repairs to equipment that affects product quality.
Verify sanitation procedures are performed properly.
Verify line start-up conditions and readings.
Ensure that production does not take place if standards are not met.
Perform calibration of testing equipment in accordance with company procedures.
Ensure that other employees are completing required QC tests and documentation as required.
Job Duties include but are not limited to-
· Follow the QC Sampling plan and collect all laboratory samples and other samples as directed.
Complete all QC daily, weekly and monthly checklists, and other paperwork as assigned.
Complete start-up checks including ozone checks for production.
Perform all QC checks on all production lines.
· Confirm other employees are correctly filling out their required shift checklists as assigned.
Visually and consistently check all operations during the shift to ensure product quality.
Train and advise operators on the completion of their paperwork.
· Verify all raw materials in use are correct, working with machine operators and shift leaders, and production schedules.
Work with employees and managers in production, quality, and maintenance to ensure machine set-up is correct for the product, or to resolve problems.
· Inspect the plant continuously for cleanliness, potential contamination and quality in all areas.
· Understand the operation of all machinery and parts in the facility, including but not limited to powered industrial conveyors, rollers, belts and chains, energized hoists, rotating machinery and machinery moving robotically in 3-D space.
· Keep hands out of moving machinery.
Unjam/clear stopped machines using hands and tools.
· Use computerized and LED screens and manual switches, safety interlocks, manual jog buttons, and all controls to ensure smooth operation of machinery when assisting on the line.
Assist maintenance technicians in making corrective actions.
· Maintain the safe operation of machinery [be responsible for the safety of others in proximity when using manual jog buttons, or setting-up or unjamming equipment.
] Do not operate controls when any other person is cleaning machinery or working in, on, or close to machinery.
· Maintain a Functional Relationship with Production management.
· Cleaning – Keep Quality Control work stations clean at all times.
Assist in clean-up of filling and packaging rooms.
Assure only approved cleaners, lubricants and chemicals are used in the facility.
Supply correct, labeled cleaning chemicals to operators.
Keep floors clean, dry and free of debris.
Use appropriate bins for used supplies, used rags, damaged bottles and caps, and trash.
Do not use or allow any chemicals in unlabeled containers in the facility.
· Use PPE including hearing and eye protection in accordance with company policies.
Understand and comply with special requirements for protective clothing in filler/capper rooms.
· Work safely and efficiently, using planning skills to minimize downtime at start-ups.
· Complete all assigned paperwork including non-conformity and HOLD documents as needed.
· Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push and pull objects of various sizes and up to 50 pounds from one level to another at varying heights.
Physically able to bend/stoop/squat/ crouch/twist/climb stairs and industrial ladders, and balance as necessary.
