We currently have an opportunity for a part-time/Weekend Cook in Redding, CA.
Redding Pilgrim and Redding RHF Housing is home to your Older Adults and Developmentally Disabled Residents.
Cook Job and Responsibilities:
Serves meals by reviewing recipes; assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary kitchen
Executes cold food production in accordance with standards of plating guide specifications
Attends to the detail and presentation of each order
Prepares ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients; adding seasonings; verifying taste; and plating meals
Completes hot meal preparation by grilling, and sautéing procedures; and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items
Coordinates daily food supply inventory for the cafeteria.
Submits order to supervisor
Assists with food deliveries to second site in Redding
Required to contribute daily food serving to our residents
Ensures smooth operation of cafeteria services during the absence of supervisor
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas
Completes cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules and dishwashing/potwashing as needed
Listens to customer complaints and suggestions and resolves complaints
Participates in and/or contributes to the wellbeing of residents
Work Hours/Pay: Friday- Monday 4 hours.
Job offering $17.
00-$18.
00 hourly.
Cook Qualifications/ Requirements:
Will be required to drive from one site to the next.
Deliver and serve food to our residents
Must obtain a Valid Driver’s License
Must provide proof of insurance
Demonstrate knowledge of and skill in the ability to safely and effectively operate standard food service equipment

Ability to serve food to persons with Developmental disabilities
Ability to be patient, kind, and passionate to help our residents and their needs
Ability to remain calm when residents need assistance
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Minimum two (2) years of hospital, institutional, or restaurant cooking experience to include food preparation
Current ServSafe certification or has successfully completed a sanitization course within the past year
Current food handler’s card and other certification as required by federal/state/local law
High school diploma or GED
The selected candidate must meet hiring requirements.
