*Job Description:*
We are seeking a Lead for our Engineering and Design Department.
This position is a working manager role, meaning you will both manage the day-to-day activities of a small engineering and drafting group as well as directly contribute to key elements of product design.
As a manager, you will direct the activities of a small group of engineers and drafters across all design disciplines, including electrical, automation, and mechanical engineering and drafting.
You will be directly responsible for chemical and process engineering, including specifying major equipment that will serve as the foundation for system design.
*Responsibilities:*
• Collaborate with departmental and corporate leadership to assess existing design capabilities, processes, and systems and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to a small team of engineers and drafters.
• Provide primary inputs to process and chemical engineering, including specifying major equipment on a product level as well as project level.
• Develop and manage relationships with key vendors.
• Identify and fix design process bottlenecks to ensure smooth project flow as well as smooth communication within the department and with other departments.
• Conduct design reviews with clients to ensure design aligns with client expectations.
• Manage the design process and the creation of all design deliverables, including PFD, Build Sheets, P&ID, General Arrangements, Instrument lists, production drawings, and all other associated deliverables.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and project managers, to ensure successful implementation and integration of design projects.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to support ongoing operations and maintenance activities.
• Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in automation and electrical engineering technologies, incorporating knowledge into project designs and strategies.
• Participate in project planning and execution activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation, to ensure successful project completion.
• Maintain accurate documentation of project designs, specifications, and implementation plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
*Qualifications:*
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of chemical and process engineering principles, with a cursory knowledge of automation, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and provide input and pushback when needed.
• Understanding and experience with process piping manufacturing.
• Strong administrative skills and ability to stay organized.
• Ability to develop and articulate solutions, and when necessary, provide pushback to subordinates, peers, and superiors while maintaining strong interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.
00 - $125,000.
