Responsibilities:
The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) will provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim.
This will include a forensic exam, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, support and participation in legal proceedings.
The SANE is expected to follow protocols established by the Medical Director and/or management of the SANE program for which the SANE is employed.
The SANE is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Qualifications:
ADDITIONAL Education and Work Experience
Current and valid state RN license.
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
Complete the initial state SANE/SART training.
Complete the initial and on-going preceptor requirements as identified by the SANE/SART program
Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months and maintain current annually
Shasta Regional Medical Center offers competitive compensation and the current compensation range for this role is $54.
