Special Education Paraprofessional

Responsibilities: - Assist the special education teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities - Provide one-on-one support to students in math and literacy education - Collaborate with the teacher to develop and implement lesson plans that meet the unique needs of each student - Support students in their social and emotional development - Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies - Provide assistance with personal care tasks, as needed - Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or related field preferred - Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is highly desirable - Knowledge of special education practices and strategies is a plus - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, teachers, and parents - Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations - Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team - Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students Note: This position may involve working with preschool or toddler-aged children.
Experience in early childhood education or child care is beneficial.
Curriculum development experience is also valuable for creating engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for students.
