*Project Accountant – Redding, CA* Project Accountant needed for our Redding corporate headquarters office.

We’re in need of a full time, organized, detail oriented project accountant with a cooperative, can-do attitude.
Summary: The Project Accountant is an integral part of the accounting team who works with project management staff and the leadership team on a variety of project accounting tasks including project budgeting and forecasting, invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and contract management.
*Compensation: *$22-$35+ per hour DOE plus competitive benefits package *Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)* · Work closely with your internal clients – Project Managers and Studio Directors – to ensure accurate and consistent billing and financial reporting at the project and studio levels.
· Proactively develop new ideas and solutions to improve financial management.
· Review project work plans, budgets and staffing plans for fee alignment.
· Maintain organized project contract files, and understand contract terms as they relate to fee management.
· Assist Project Managers in performing project start-up due diligence and following Firm best practices throughout project life cycles.
· Provide accurate invoices to clients per contract terms; coordinate consultant invoices and payments per contract terms.
· Regularly review project labor and expense charges with project managers for accuracy and appropriateness.
· Forecast actual vs.
budget spending and analyze projects to provide actionable insight to project and office leadership.
· Monitor project accounts receivable, draft collection letters and assist project managers with collection efforts.
· Monitor, analyze, and report on a variety of metrics at the studio level to model and support healthy business practices; become a leader for matters related to project finance.
· Provide training to project managers regarding financial maintenance of projects.
*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:* · Accounting/Business Administration degree _*or*_ 5+ years’ experience in a *professional services environment*, preferably with an architecture or design firm or construction.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage different personality types.
· Highly organized and detail-oriented.
· A self-starter and a great team player.
· Not just comfortable with technology, but seeks ways to achieve better results through new technologies and processes.
· Works well under pressure with multiple tasks and deadlines.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent references who speak to the quality of your work and your personal contributions to business performance and organizational culture.
· Experience within the Architecture, Engineering or Construction industries, _*strongly preferred.
*_ · Ability to interface with project managers, clients and architects · Experience with Microsoft Office including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and experience with Ajera software a plus · Assists in fee and expense analysis · Reviews and analyzes the financial condition of each project (accrual and cash) on a monthly basis and advises the Project Manager, Financial Controller as to any material variances · Reviews weekly financial reports and brings any significant issues to the attention of the Project Manager · Alerts the Financial Controller regarding any internal control problems or questionable practices · Updates outstanding receivable statements, billing summaries and consultant summaries that are for client's use · Interacts with Client's accounting department counterpart regarding outstanding invoices, billing schedules, invoice approvals and ultimate collection; Client regarding status and analysis of consultants' invoicing; Consultants regarding accounts payable and invoices.
*Physical Requirements/ Work Environment:* · Normal office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
